Job Summary:
The core nature and scope of the job is to support and deputize the Head of the Treasury Operations in supervision of the Treasury Operations team and functions by ensuring that all treasury activities are carried in accordance with approved policies and guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of trade bookings, settlement, confirmation and other deliverables.
Ensuring call backs are performed effectively and any issues escalated promptly.
Daily review of bank reconciliations between the Treasury Management systems and bank statements.
Responsible for regulatory and internal reporting for Treasury related activities.
Maintaining the Bank’s SSI’s details and rates upload in the Treasury Management Systems.
Nostro accounts management.
Review and update procedure manuals and process flowcharts to timely reflect change in workflow, launch of new products and system enhancements.
Maintain, review and implement Treasury operations risk controls and KRIs by ensuring the risk register is always up to date and effectively communicated and that actions are taken up by relevant stakeholders.
Monitor compliance of all treasury operations activities relative to policies and market best practices.
Consults with stakeholders and works closely with Treasury Middle Office, Market Risk, Custody, Treasury Front Office and Finance teams to identify issues and participate in their resolution.
Assist with and champion system implementation and technical upgrades as required.
Analyze current state processes, providing suggestions for process re-engineering and technology implementation to improve efficiency and controls.
Engaging in relevant industry initiatives and developments.
Assist with the treasury function’s audit process for both internal and external audits including liaisons on audit follow-up points.
Contribute key information to various cross-functional units and teams.
Any other duties and ad-hoc requests that may be assigned to the role holder by Senior Management from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
A first degree (Upper Second) in a relevant discipline i.e., accounting, financial management, economics, or other related disciplines.
Recognized Professional Qualification in Treasury Operations -ACI will be a strong added advantage.
Excellent knowledge of Treasury Products.
Operational and solid experience working with Treasury Management Systems.
Project management skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills, professionalism, and the ability to engage and effectively build relationships and establish rapport with internal and external partners.
Advanced Excel skills and computer literacy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
