Our client in the manufacturing industry seeks to hire a well experienced learning and development officer.
Location: Nairobi
Reporting: HR & Administration Manager
Overall Objective of the Job
To assist in developing, advising, and implementing various human resources policies, procedures and systems as well as providing support in human resources functions including recruitment, training and development, performance management and employee counselling.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
- Provide support to supervisors and staff to develop the skills and capabilities to ensure skills gaps and performance related obstacles are addressed.
- Supporting the HR & Admin Manager in the performance management function by ensuring performance planning and review has been done and that effective performance improvement programs have been initiated and closely followed to completion where needed.
- Create a consistent compensation guideline that matches our work and organizational culture
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepare and implement company learning strategies and programs quarterly
- Analyse training needs through exploring jobs٫ career paths٫ annual performance appraisals and consulting with line managers
- To make sure manpower requirements of SBU aligned with the strategic goals of the organization
- To take a proactive approach to HR compliance, legislation, and risk management, ensuring risks and issues are identified, addressed, and reported and, where appropriate, escalated.
ACADEMIC & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
● Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or other relevant degree
● A higher diploma in HR or CHRP
● Must be a registered member with IHRM
RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
● Exposure handling learning and development, performance management and employee relations issues
● At least four (4) years of relevant experience in a busy manufacturing company
● Sound understanding of labour laws and other national legislations related to labour
● Knowledge and experience in working with labour unions
● Good understanding of the various HRM functions with the ability to coordinate them.
● Working knowledge of working with HR systems/ soft wares. SAGE 300 experience preferred
● Experience in working in a multicultural environment
