Job Description/Requirements
DEPARTMENT: ICT
LOCATION:NAIROBI
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Establish ICT strategic plans to ensure technology deployed is aligned to business requirements & group companies are maximizing benefit from use of current & new technologies;
• Monitor and support all it business application systems in use within the group companies including tracking and ensuring issues are resolved within agreed turnaround times;
• Monitor and manage it infrastructure areas, including LAN, WAN, email, PC & other related hardware;
• Establish and ensure compliance with corporate ICT policy, including systems and components security;
• Influence policy and procedures on it vendor management;
• Oversee data base administration & performance tuning;
• Support month-end closing & reconciliation;
• Oversee project management, solution delivery, testing & implementation;
• Oversee data recovery and business continuity planning;
• Prepare it budgets and proposals for future direction of it in the organization;
• Implement monthly billing to group companies for ICT services and resources utilized;
• Coordinate and manage staff development & training programs;
• Review and approve job-cards and timesheets for task scheduling and billing;
• Prepare periodic reports to the management on all matters that pertain to ICT systems;
• Continuous performance monitoring of ICT department staff;
• Periodic reports to ICT consultant;
• Any other duties assigned by the Management.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
• Minimum Degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field
• Masters or Post Graduate Diploma and /or other professional IT courses is preferred. Minimum 5 years work experience in IT industry, of which minimum 2 years as IT Manager
• Familiarity with web-based and other technologies (IIS, Oracle DB, SQL&PL/SQL, Sun Solaris, Visual Basic)
• Experience with third party application system vendors
• Good knowledge of Accounting Systems is an added advantage
• Awareness of ICT trends and opportunities
