VACANCIES IN THE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, IRRIGATION, LIVESTOCK AND FISHERIES DEVELOPMENT

6. Agriculture Engineer II – Survey & Design (AMS) J.G CPSB 09 ‘K’

Positions: – 1

Terms of Service: – Permanent and Pensionable

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Identification and documentation of opportunities for land development and soil and water conservation;
2. Carrying out reconnaissance surveys and farm mapping services for development of conservation structures water harvesting and cropping;
3. Designing water-harvesting structures and supervising the construction work;
4. Providing on-farm contractual design and survey services to clients;
5. Liaising with Sub-County Agribusiness Development Officers in farm planning;
6. Generating and review land use maps on land use potential;
7. Preparation of work plans and budgets; and
8. Compilation of periodic reports.
9. Any other duties assigned by the Station Manager

Requirements for Appointment

1. Kenyan
2. Must have Bachelor’s Degree in a field of Agricultural Engineering or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
3. Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
4. Must be registered as a graduate Engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK)
5. Must be in possession of current certificate of good standing from Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
6. Having at least 1-year experience in survey and design of soil and water conservation structures will be an added advantage.
7. Must have Certification in CAD applications.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
All applicants are expected to present the following additional documents during interviews for purpose of complying with the provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution

1. Tax compliance certificates
2. Clearance from HELB where necessary
3. Clearance from the Ethics and anti- corruption commission
4. Clearance from the CRB.
5. Certificate of Good Conduct from the police
