The company is currently seeking to recruit a PET Blow Molding Operator to be part of the team in the manufacturing plant in Nairobi that will deliver the set production goals and the overall company objectives.
Job Purpose
The PET Blow Molding Operator will be responsible for operating and optimizing the PET blow mold equipment in the bottling plant. He/she will set up machines, observe their operation, ensure manufactured products meet specifications and make adjustments as necessary. The role holder will also be responsible for proper maintenance of the machinery to meet set production standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely and proactively operate, troubleshoot, and optimize PET blow mold and support equipment
· Meet performance targets for blow molding
· Ensure proper setup of blow mold machines
· Monitor and adjust bottle processes to optimize bottle quality and correct defects, including the completion of hourly quality checks
· Manage bottle silo level, merge/dump gate setup, and blower speeds
· Work with the Technicians & Mechanics to execute and perform mold changeovers
· Maintain machine adjustment logs
· Comply with sanitation standards, adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and maintain a clean and organized work area
· Follow contamination prevention and machine cleaning procedures
· Become proficient in facility specific blow molder equipment operations & troubleshooting
· Communicate with maintenance on machine performance issues, submit work requests for corrective maintenance
· Cross train and perform duties of other team members as needed
· Assist with equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and rebuilds as needed
· Monitoring and recording all machine functions: temperatures, pressures and speeds.
· Maintaining quality aspects such as weights, neck, weak spots and leak checks.
Job Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree, Diploma or Certificate in Plant Operations, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant related field of study.
· Have excellent knowledge of the machinery used for soft drinks bottling and PET blow molding.
· Posses excellent knowledge of mechanical equipment and the ability to diagnose and correct equipment malfunction.
· Have excellent knowledge of basic machinery preventive maintenance and repair.
