Job Description/Requirements
From our establishment in 2009, Tamarind Language Services has grown to become East Africa’s premier language services supplier. We engage translators and interpreters on a global basis and our local and international customers are found in the public and private sectors.
Due to an increasing demand for our services, Tamarind Language Services now seeks to recruit a Project Management Assistant. Reporting to the Project Managers in charge of Translation and Interpretation sections, the successful candidate is expected to ensure smooth implementation of projects.
Generally, the job involves to:
Analyse documents to be translated
Send out translation requests to the linguists in our database
Follow up on active projects to ensure timely deliveries
Deliver translated documents to clients (as delegated by the Translation Project Manager)
Update client details in our project management system
Co-ordinate and supervise efficient delivery by interpreters and equipment technicians at conference sites
Cooperate with client's contacts before during and after the conference to ensure a well-coordinated delivery of language services
Issue reports on conference kick-off, progress and conclusion to the Interpretation Project Manager
Oversee proper use of office secretarial equipment, when supplied
Minimum qualification is a Diploma in Project Management and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Excellent computer skills with knowledge of project management software are basic requirements. Knowledge of a foreign language is an added advantage.
