Sinapis is looking for a senior marketing leader who possesses strategic and creative marketing experience and has a proven track record in helping relationship-driven brands grow exponentially. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial-minded marketer who has a passion for others, is connected within the greater Nairobi business community, and can craft campaigns that connect directly with our target audience. This position will work closely with both our Global Director of Marketing and East Africa Regional Director.
Reporting to: Global Director of Marketing with dotted line to East Africa Regional Director
Location: Kilimani, Nairobi, Kenya
Expected hours: Full-time
Experience: 10+ years in marketing director roles; creative director experience a plus
Salary range: Competitive

We have trained over 5,000 entrepreneurs, and our services are offered in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ghana, Liberia, Egypt, Brazil, Mongolia, Mexico, Mozambique, and Burundi. As Sinapis continues to expand, a key part of our strategy is to continue to develop a best-in-class faith-driven entrepreneurship ecosystem in East Africa. We are also working to equip other organizations and networks around the world with our training programs, toolkits, and systems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Partner with Global Director of Marketing and East Africa Regional Director to set the creative and strategic direction of all East African marketing strategies and be the champion that implements each component along the way
Facilitate market research activities that include but are not limited to; focus groups, surveys, stakeholder meetings, phone calls, etc. Better understand who our customers are and what’s shifting for them as they progress along their entrepreneurial journey
Develop and grow our local and regional public relations efforts in each East African market we serve, boosting our earned media reach
Manage a wide range of marketing project needs in support of the East Africa Regional Director and Global Marketing Director. This could include making phone calls, organizing events, scheduling interviews with entrepreneurs, etc.
Lead the local storytelling (photo & video) process. Know what stories need to be told and how to get them told. Manage photo and video shoots as needed
Manage a small team of internal co-workers and external creative vendors
Lead internal brand-building and communications efforts that onboard new employees, trains staff on important brand tools, and supports the relationship management team with customer interactions
Digital marketing management experience is highly preferred. Working in HubSpot and creating automated marketing campaigns will be a part of this job
Ensure Sinapis brand standards are being upheld
Other related tasks as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A heart for our mission and a passion for alleviating poverty through private sector development
Market research and public relations experience
Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; Adobe Creative Suite and HubSpot a plus
You love to improve the things around you through creativity and design
Working understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Canva, Adobe Spark, and WhatsApp, to name a few
Solid understanding of business, entrepreneurship, and missions
Experienced in contacting and working with external clients and vendors
Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Strong character and integrity
Ability to work independently in a small team environment
A portfolio demonstrating exceptional and multidisciplinary work
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in marketing, advertising, business management, graphic design, and/or ability to prove experience through your portfolio
10+ years of relevant experience in a senior marketing role at an NGO, creative agency, or SGB that shows your ability to work on a variety of projects
