POSITION: FINANCE ACCOUNTANT
JOB GRADE: ASSOCIATE 1
BASIC SALARY: KES 35,000 TO KES 45,000 (Based on experience)

REPORTS TO: Finance and Administration Director
The finance accountant is responsible for running the accounting and financial activities of the organization. They process and analyse the financial data of the company and provide financial information to management. Enabling management to make informed sales, expenditure, budgeting, and investment decisions. They will report on costs, productivity, margins, and company expenditures. The Finance Accountant will be responsible for assisting the business to implement efficient and diligent financial practices
Description
▪ Responsible for the day-to-day running of the company accounts and works on the management plan, executing and coordinating strategic financial initiatives.
▪ Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements) references, and verifying education listings
▪ Oversee the computation and payment of statutory dues such as VAT, NSSF, NHIF and prepare and submit VAT returns
▪ Liaise with external auditors
▪ Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow
▪ Maintaining the billing system and generating invoices and debtor account statements
▪ Performing day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables’ data
▪ Managing customer collections to review client accounts, client payments, credit history, and develop new or better invoicing/collection processes.
▪ Work with the Projects team to determine project billing cycles, and profitability and align company cash flow projections with project road maps.
▪ Performing administrative and bookkeeping tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, sending bill reminders, filing paperwork, and contacting clients to discuss their accounts.
▪ Managing internal expenditures such as petty cash, travel expenses, purchases, Imprest, and advances using the internal ERP system
▪ Perform monthly Payroll processing and remittances and related statutory and management reports
Qualifications
▪ Experience of 2 years as an Accountant with similar duties as per this JD
▪ A degree in Accounting or Finance
▪ Minimum of B+ in K.C.S.E or equivalent grades in equivalent qualifications
▪ Must be CPA certified, registered with ICPAK
▪ Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
▪ Solid knowledge of Kenyan accounting regulations especially around tax and employee compensation
▪ Excellent math skills with an attention to detail
▪ Have excellent knowledge in the use of business applications, email, and Microsoft Office software.
▪ Experience with using Enterprise Resource Planning systems (Microsoft Dynamics is an added advantage)
