Department: Junior Secondary School
Reporting To: The Head of School KISC Junior Secondary
We are looking for Home Science Teacher to join our highly performing team of educators for our Junior Secondary School. As a teacher, you will be responsible for cultivating the students’ interest in education and development. Your responsibilities will include grading assignments, evaluating students’ progress, and planning educational activities, and or any other roles as assigned by the school’s management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach and deliver exceptional lessons that align with the Kenya curriculum requirement.
Maintain positive, constructive and professional relationships with students, their families and colleagues.
Develop and issue academic content that includes schemes of work, lesson plans and assignments and other professional documents that are necessary for effective curriculum deliver.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students and maintain an organized and focused learning environment.
Infuse joy and passion for learning in lessons so that students are excited and interested in their academic experiences.
Be accountable for students’ performance and academic standards at each stage.
Integrate interactive technology into lessons to enhance instructional delivery.
Set and communicate rigorous and ambitious goals for all students and provide effective feedback for learners’ progress.
Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior and model expected behaviour at all times for students to emulate.
Consistently meet the ambitious goals of a rapidly growing and organization
Serve as teacher on duty and/or boarding teacher on duty and support other school programs aimed at behavior interventions.
Timely capture of students’ data on academic outcomes and articulation of students’ progress to families and other stakeholders when called upon to do so.
Serve as a classroom teacher when called upon to do so.
