Job Summary
Our client, industry leaders in the field of Conservation Agriculture, working with broadacre non-irrigated farmers in Kenya is seeking to recruit a Seed Operations Manager to be based in Timau.
Minimum Qualification:Bachelor
Experience Level:Senior level
Experience Length:5 years
Job Description/Requirements
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing commercial operations around their product pipelines. The ideal candidate Must have prior experience working in crop production company.
Key Requirements:
• Management of the Seed Company and leadership of its team
• To grow, improve and expand the Seed Company substantially.
• Budgeting of company activities
• Oversee seed processing and storage infrastructural design and construction
• Long-term seed demand forecasting and production planning
• Management of seed contracts, supervision of production and harvesting.
• Manage and grow seed sales and offtake
• Build business cases around target crops
• Oversee market research and develop sales channel
• Design and build out quality assurance and monitoring system
• Build warehouse and stock management system
Qualifications:
• A Bachelors or Higher degree in Agriculture or Natural Sciences is mandatory
• Exceptional planning skills, backed up by very strong IT capability.
• Commercial experience, with a track record of working in a commercial decision-making environment
• Clear, professional communication in both verbal and written form.
• 5 years’ experience in a role either working in crop production or closely working alongside a production team in post-harvest, sales or planning
• Hands-on practical experience in a working farm environment or an agricultural or seed company
• Flexible to travel.
Monthly Gross salary: 160,000 – 200,000/= depending on experience and qualifications.
