The role encompasses a broad range of tax compliance responsibilities in the tax area for all Group companies, in the Africa region.
Responsibilities
Responsible for highly tax technical compliance work for all BUs, namely APMT IS entities in Africa
Assessment of companies’ internal procedures to identify and mitigate eventual risks and uncertain tax positions
Involvement in general taxes issues, especially regarding tax compliance matters
Provide technical support to the Tax Controversy group in relation to the various tax audits and controversy cases
Collaborate with other functional tax and finance groups to provide an integrated approach to support business needs
Technical assistance on tax projects on a demand basis
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree is required
Certification or master’s degree in taxation is required
Certification or master’s degree in accounting (IFRS) is required. Knowledge of the Ohada Accounting System is an advantage
MBA, and/or LL.M with concentration in tax is an advantage
Up to 5 years of relevant tax work experience – Tax Practice Experience is a Must and experience in Big Four Consulting firms is an advantage
Experience in a corporate environment with global operations
Strategic and proactive mindset in approach to tax
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to perform critical analysis, prioritize and problem solving
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to foster a collaborative, team environment and matrix organizations
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Results oriented: demonstrate ability to handle multiple projects, effectively prioritize, and execute
Ability to thrive in a change environment
Working knowledge of tax accounting and compliance
