Our client, in the Freight and Logistics sector is looking for a Chief Accountant.
Ideal candidate MUST have 8-10 Years experience in the same Industry.
JOB PURPOSE
Supervise and control the accounting team by imposing the effective mechanism for acknowledging financial transactions to ensure proper reporting that is in compliance with local rules and regulations and international accounting standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Supervise the accounts unit and verify compliance with the company policies and procedures and accounting international standards.
• Set guidelines for recognizing financial transactions to ensure timely reporting.
• Validate all financial data in the Company’s financial software to ensure accuracy.
• Establish proper filing system for financial documents to ensure compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure the safe custody of checkbooks and receipt vouchers in compliance with the Company’s financial policies and procedures.
• Oversee and monitor the credit team to ensure targeted average collection period (ACP).
• Responsible for internal controls and tax Compliance.
• Motivate and develop staff ensuring that objectives are established and communicated, monitored, and reviewed, to ensure proper reporting.
BASIC/ JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant discipline.
• Certified holder of an accounting qualification preferably CPA (K) holder.
• Microsoft Office with high degree of skill on Excel.
• 8-10 years of similar role, i.e. Chief Accountant or Accounting manager.
• Have previous experience in Freight and Logistics industry in a similar position.
• Have experience in SAP.
• Big 4 experience is an added advantage.
