Our client manufactures high quality rigid and flexible packaging products for valued clients in the Eastern and Central African regions, and is considered the premier plastic packaging company in Kenya and Tanzania. They also serve as an important supply chain partner for premier global brands.

Role Summary
The role holder is to Ensure that all ICT infrastructure are functioning and provide a reliable, secure and readily available application system for optimal usage of the same by staff.

Responsibilities
● Establish network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
● Establish network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls in line with the SOP.
● Provide support to users and solve identified problems to minimize system downtime and loss of productivity through either over the phone, remote support or in person.
● Complete simple / standard set-up activities for computers, printers, multifunctioning devices, audio-visual equipment and other ICT systems in line with Service Level Agreements to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
● Perform routine maintenance of equipment, document and review processes and procedures.
● Monitor the performance of systems and assist with the identification of potential issues and propose solutions.
● Handle IT related projects and audits.
● Perform assigned tasks to support the company to meet its objectives and targets.
● Advise the business on process improvements, new technologies, innovations and products.

Academic and Professional Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Computer science
● CISCO Certifications in CCNA (Switching and Routing), CCNP (switching and routing) and Network Security certification
● ITIL Foundation, Cobit or any IT Process certification, MCSE / MCSA, RHCE or any server related certifications– added advantage
● Minimum of 3 Years of experience in Network Support & maintenance
● Proven experience or knowledge in Network Management – WAN/LAN computer networks, Data Communication, TCP/IP, Application monitoring & Diagnostic, Working knowledge of Network managing Tool.
● Familiarity with Routers, Firewall, Server system administration
● Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching with Cisco routers, switches, WiFi, and firewalls
● Knowledge and experience in handling and troubleshooting IoS applications and hardware
● Demonstrated knowledge and skills in supporting SAP.
