Job Description/Requirements
JOB LOCATION: NYAMIRA COUNTY
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of factory machinery and factory buildings.
• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review work of staff responsible for maintenance of the production plant including repair and installation of all mechanical equipment in the plant.
• Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance and repair services; identify resource needs; review needs with management; allocate resources accordingly
• Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures
• Perform quality inspections on machine and spare part purchases
• Oversee the assembly of mechanical systems in the plant including interpretation of engineering related drawings.
• Reduction of machine downtime in the factory
• Participate in the selection of plant maintenance staff; oversee staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures
• Participate in the preparation and of the plant maintenance program budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures
• Perform preventative maintenance functions.
Qualifications and Competencies:
• O’ Levels
• Higher National Diploma or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Possess a trade test certificate Grade I or Craft certificates – Craft III.
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably tea manufacture).
• Possess a valid certificate of good conduct.
• Have knowledge in mechanical estimation.
• A good Team Leader.
• Must have service-oriented attitude.
