VACANCIES IN THE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SANITATION

Positions: – 10

Terms of Service: – Permanent & Pensionable

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Participate in the strategic planning of the division in collaboration with other medical staff in the unit for significant impact on the performance or business outcome of the hospital and its sub-functions.
2. Attend to patients’ medical needs, diagnose their illnesses and prescribe medicines and other therapeutic interventions in consultation rooms at the hospital.
3. Follow-up on and observe the clinical conditions and progress of patients in the wards
4. Provide medical advice, counselling, health education and control measures to patients in the hospital in order to prevent spread of diseases and injuries.
5. Work with other medical staff to solve single or multiple medical issues and/or participate in performing extensive surgical operations in the hospital.
6. Implement best practice clinical and patient care related policies and procedures in the outpatient division of the hospital.
7. Refer outpatients to the appropriate specialized clinics and medical consultants within the hospital for further diagnosis, treatment and management of their medical conditions.
8. Provide quality emergency medical services to patients in the emergency unit of the hospital.
9. Any other duty given from time to time.

Requirements for Appointment

1. Kenyan Citizen
2. Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution
3. Must have a Certificate in basic life support and Advanced Cardiac life support
4. Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council
5. Valid Practice License.
6. At least one year working experience in medical practice in a busy health facility.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
All applicants are expected to present the following additional documents during interviews for purpose of complying with the provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution

1. Tax compliance certificates
2. Clearance from HELB where necessary
3. Clearance from the Ethics and anti- corruption commission
4. Clearance from the CRB.
5. Certificate of Good Conduct from the police
